Do you need help paying for childcare while attending Sierra College classes? If you are a current or former TANF/ CalWORKs recipient (who has been off cash aid less than two years) you may be eligible for childcare financial assistance through the Sierra College CalWORKs office.
The CalWORKs staff will assist students by:
- Referring/ funding students with preschool age children to the Sierra College Children's Center as CalWORKs students are given priority.
- Referring/ funding students with infants to the Sierra College Infant/ Toddler Facility as CalWORKs students are given priority.
- Providing financial assistance for off-campus childcare for eligible CalWORKs students.
- Referring students to the county for subsidized child care.
- Providing students with information on how to research a safe and reliable childcare facility.
