COMING SOON! - 2009-10 Scholarship Information
Sierra College offers numerous scholarships each year to eligible students. These scholarships are sponsored by Sierra College, the College Foundation, private and public organizations and range from $50 to $2,500. Selection is based primarily on academic performance but may also include other criteria.
Sierra College scholarship applications for the 2008-2009 academic year are available December 3, 2007. Deadline to apply for most of the scholarships offered is February 4, 2008. The selection for all awards will be made in April. The Awards Celebration will be held in May to introduce the scholarship recipients. Unless donors have special criteria for awarding their scholarship, all winners receive one-half of their award at the start of the Fall 2008 semester and one-half at the start of the Spring 2009 semester after they have submitted proof of enrollment from the Records Office of their school.
Read each scholarship carefully; some of them have earlier deadlines! To review the available scholarships and the criteria of each, click on "Sierra College Scholarship Booklet." Apply only for those scholarships in which you meet all of the listed requirements. If you do not meet all of the requirements, you will not be considered for that award.
You must submit a completed application for each scholarship for which you are applying. A completed application includes the following:
- The application form (.pdf) or (.doc) (is available through this link) with full name of scholarship,
- Grade transcripts from all colleges you have attended,
- Scholarship budget form (.pdf) or (.doc), if requested,
- Letters of recommendation,
- And any special application or letters that may be required
- Incomplete Applications Will Not Be Accepted!
- You must request unofficial grade transcripts from the Admissions/Records Office. Allow 48 hours processing time. If you are applying for more than one scholarship, it is acceptable for you to make additional copies of your grade transcripts. Do not submit grades from MySierra or quick link to grades online. You must attach a copy of your transcripts to each scholarship application.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation are needed for all scholarships. Please check the criteria as some may require more than two letters. Do not submit more than two letters unless requested. Obtain one from an instructor or college representative (or if you are a high school student, submit one letter from a high school representative) and one from any employer or community leader. Copies of your letters must be attached to each application.
Deadline February 4, 2008
For all completed applications (unless otherwise noted)
