The Center provides free testing services for Sierra College students taking make-up exams and exams given through Distance Learning courses. The Center also provides fee-based proctoring for non - Sierra College students.
All Sierra College students who use the Testing Center must have a Sierra College Student ID Card in order to take an exam, test, or quiz. The cards are scanned so that the student attendance and testing information is recorded in the Center’s databank. Students can get an ID card at the Winstead Center, Window 5.
Procedure for Sierra College Students
- To take an exam, you must have your Sierra College Student ID Card.
- We will not proctor a loose exam. If you bring an exam to the Testing Center, the exam and proctoring instructions must be in a sealed envelope.
- We cannot proctor an exam without proctoring instructions.
- Turn OFF your cell phone. You should not use your cell phone as a calculator or clock.
- Testers cannot visit with friends, neighbors, or family while taking an exam.
- Testers should give themselves enough time to finish their exams in one sitting. Students cannot start an exam, partially complete it, and then return another time to finish the exam unless the professor gives permission to do so.
- The Testing Center is like a classroom. You should finish your exam before leaving unless permission for a brief break (drink of water, restroom) is okayed by the proctor.
- No Cheating.
Procedure for non-Sierra College Students
The Sierra College Testing Center provides test proctoring to non-Sierra College students on a fee-based basis. Fees are based on how much time your instructor or testing center allows, not on the time your actually take. Exams that allow up to two hours will incur a fee of $20.00. For exams allowing between two and four hours, the fee will be $40.00. If a student wishes, a semester pass can be purchased for $80.00. The pass allows unlimited test proctoring during the semester in which the pass is purchased. Passes can only be used for one semester.
In order to receive test proctoring services, students must fill out the Test Proctoring Form (Form in .doc format; Form in .pdf format) and pay their test proctoring fees. In order to pay fees, students must go to the cashier’s window in the Winstead Building prior to taking their exam.
