This semester's transfer events
Resources & Services
The Transfer Center offers resources and services to all Sierra College students with special effort to support underrepresented students in the transfer process. There are many materials and resource lists to assist students doing their transfer research:
- A library of current college catalogs is available to students.
- Other resource materials and equipment including computers, books, and videotapes are available for student use.
- The Transfer Center provides contact with CSU and UC representatives through campus visits, tours, and workshops both at the Sierra College campus and the individual CSU and UC campuses.
- Representatives from universities such as UC Berkeley, UC Davis, CSU Sacramento, CSU Chico and University of the Pacific visit Sierra College regularly.
- Information is provided about admission, specific majors, general education requirements and transfer procedures.
- Special events such as Transfer Day bring representatives from over 50 different colleges and universities to Sierra College to provide valuable information to transferring students.
These activities, events, and resources collectively assist students in the transition from Sierra College to baccalaureate colleges and universities.
Using Articulation Helps With the Transfer Process
The complexity of transferring is further reduced by the use of course Articulation. Articulation lists equivalent lower-division major coursework to be completed for transfer to the CSU, UC system and specific private institutions. This ensures that a student's lower division major classes will be accepted by their baccalaureate institution and that each student will make the best use of their time here at Sierra College.
Transfer Admission Agreements
Transfer admission agreements are programs entered into by the student and a UC or private school. It is a contract listing the exact courses you must take and the GPA required for guaranteed admission to that institution. Sierra College has transfer agreement programs with UC Davis,UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, UC San Diego, University of the Pacific, San Francisco State University, and Sonoma State University.
